    Wasn’t sure so here’s a dumb question When I make a 5 gallon run with my grains and finish the run I still have a pot full left, do I need to dispose this or can it be reused?

    Question, just purchased the Brewhaus pro series ll from an estate sale most everything was there except the bottom half of the column. Can I run like it is? or could I purchase a 2″ sanitary spool to make it complete? Thanks for the help

    Some questions made a run yesterday with kopper king in my 5 gallon still, got 4 1/2 quarts before having to quit for some evening thunderstorms my 1st and 2nd were 142 and 138 proof 3rd and 4th were 120 and 100 proof and the 1/2 quart was 84 proof, they bubble when shaken like I was told to look for so I think I did alright.

    • I would through out what was left in the pot. I never run below 100 proof. At that point normally your into tails. You can make bourbon from this. I normally mix my hearts together and cut it back to about 90 proof for drinking

    In reply to: digsclay posted an update in the group Beginner Distillers Well ran my first batch ever yesterday with my hillbilly stills sweet feed, thought I did everything right the yeast worked for 5 days before it stopped, threw away the first 70 ml and should have thrown it all out. It was God Awful! the 1st couple of quarts was 100 proof the 3rd 80 and tails 40 but all tasted like rubbing alcohol any ideas? next payday I\'m trying the copper king to see if I can do better I\'m using a 22quart mirror pc and worm View

    • Chang only one thing at a time try bread yeast pay attention to the temp you add the malt and the yeast if not happy after two/three runs try rum 8 lb brown sugar 6 gal water

    • heres a simple mash that’s pretty good and easy.

      5lbs cracked corn
      5lbs cane sugar
      5lbs dark brown sugar
      5allons water
      1 package whiskey pure with AG yeast

      heat 2.5 gal of water to 180 degrees add corn and sugars stir well to dissolve all sugar. let rest for 90 minutes to soften corn then add remaining water stir well to erate when temp reaches…[Read more]
